Department of Foreign Affairs Baguio City Office Moved To SM City Baguio


BAGUIO CITY, Sept. 24 (PIA) - - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) - Baguio Regional Consular Office Regional office in Legarda Road, Baguio City will be moving to the Upper Basement of SM City Baguio. 

DFA-Baguio will be closed to the public, Monday, September 24, to give way to the move to SM said DFA-Baguio Director Edgar Canta. 

As part of the soft launching/opening at SM, Canta said that from Tuesday, Sept. 25 to October 1, passport applications will be accepted but processing will be limited to a 150 people per day on a first-come, first-served basis while the e-passport system is being installed in the new office. 

For DFA applicants or clients who would be claiming their passport, Canta said they can go to the SM office on the scheduled dates indicated in their receipts. 

Canta also announced that the consular office will be closed again to the public on October 2 for its formal opening or inauguration. Regular consular operation will resume on October 3. 

Canta apologized to the public for the inconvenience. The transfer, he said, is part of efforts to further improve their service and bring it closer to the people. 

DFA regional offices, in what they dubbed as "mallization" signed memoranda of agreement with various malls nationwide for the establishment of DFA offices inside malls nearest to them. (CCD-PIA CAR)
